Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Mike Bushell's 'stompy' Tango ripped apart by former pro

Tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two saw Rylan Clark-Neal welcome Pasha to Choreography Corner to give his verdict on Saturday night’s dances. When it came to discussing Mike and Katya’s routine, the former professional seemed hesitant to reveal whether they should have been in the bottom two.

Rylan asked: “Did you think they deserved to be in the bottom two this week?”

Taking a deep breath, Pasha replied: “To be honest, to be honest, their Tango wasn’t my favourite out of all the Tangos that were danced that night.

“But at the same time I can really see how Mike is focussing on holding his posture and dancing with Katya and doing everything right.

“This is great because that’s what we want.”

However the former professional added he thought there was room for improvement.

“Sometimes, it can become a little bit stompy,” he remarked.

The decision to save Mike and Katya saw fans brand the show a fix with many furious Catherine was sent home.

Head judge Shirley Ballas, who had the deciding vote, also faced calls for her to be “sacked” from fans.

“I completely disagree with the judges. Am I allowed to say that?” Pasha replied.

“If you look at it this way, when it comes to the theme of the dance, the styling is great.

“But for Paso maybe it’s a little different. The judges are used to seeing different styling for Paso Doble, darker styling and a little bit more tight shirts for boys.”

However, he added: “When it coms to the dance itself, it screams Paso Doble. the lines, the shapes, the armography.”
