Destiny 2: When is Festival of the Lost starting on PS4 and Xbox One?

Bungie look set to launch the next Destiny 2 event this week following the usual Weekly Reset on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One.

The dev team behind the newly free-to-play title have confirmed their plans to kick off the Festival of the Lost celebrations very soon.

And this will bring new challenges and loot to the game that will be worth unlocking on all platforms.

WHEN IS DESTINY 2 FESTIVAL OF THE LOST STARTING?

According to the latest news from Bungie, Destiny’s Festival of The Lost is set to begin on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

This was confirmed in a new blog post from the dev team, which provided an outline on how they are handling this year’s event.

And it should also be noted that like previous years, The Festival of The Lost will begin after the Weekly Reset has been completed.

So there is a good chance that Guardians will need to download and install a new update tomorrow.

Or, Bungie will release another, smaller patch, just before the Festival of the Lost kicks off on all platforms.

Whatever does happen, gamers will see the launch of the returning event between 5-7pm, depending on how well the patching process goes.

Guardians will want to keep an eye on the game’s social media pages to track the latest news and find out if there have been any last minutes changes to the schedule.

FESTIVAL OF THE LOST 2019

According to Bungie, this year’s celebration will go beyond the Moon being the only thing that’s haunted.

Guardians can look forward to the return of the Haunted Forest, and the Tower being spookier than ever.

A new dungeon is also opening up to willing fireteams or brave Guardians who want to tackle it alone, a new quest which will unlock by speaking with Eris.

Here’s more about the returning event, courtesy of Bunge:

“After taking a year off, Eva Levante has returned as the herald of the Festival of the Lost. This holiday is a time for Guardians to don irreverent masks and celebrate the memories of those that are lost.

“As a growing threat looms ever-present, return to the Tower, grab some candy, and remind yourself what you’re fighting for.

“With Eva’s return comes a renewed dedication to decorations. Candles, lights, cobwebs, and pumpkins adorn every nook and cranny of the Tower to ensure spirits will be raised.

“Speak with Eva to begin your journey and acquire a Masquerader Helmet to participate. Earn Chocolate Strange Coins from bounties and activities to purchase Festival of the Lost mask ornaments for your new helmet.

“All Destiny 2 players can partake in the festivities, including New Light players who need to be 770 Power to begin.

“Back by popular demand, Candy makes its sweet return as a reward to be spent towards Mystery Grab Bags and the Braytech Werewolf Legendary Auto Rifle.

“After acquiring the fully Masterworked 950 Power weapon, create your own monster with random rolls.”

Destiny 2: New Light is available to download and play on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
