Jurgen Klopp provides Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah injury updates after Liverpool win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has issued a promising injury update on Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah after the win over Tottenham.

The Reds came from behind at half-time to beat Spurs 2-1 at Anfield, with Jordan Henderson and Salah on target after the interval.

Salah was forced off towards the end of the game to the despair of the home crowd.

He received medical attention after holding his ankle, where he’s had recent trouble.

The Egyptian sat out of last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United.

Van Dijk also appeared to pick up a problem, but soldiered on to play the full 90 minutes.

Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp though, is adamant both will be fine and nothing is too serious.

“Virgil not sure, I think he got a dead leg,” he told Sky Sports after the game.

“That should be fine, it’s painful, but it should be fine.

“Mo is the same thing, with his ankle with what he has it gets sore, the longer the game goes.

“It’s not a massive issue, it will disappear in time but at the moment it’s still a little bit there.

“No influence in the game but the longer the game goes the more intense it will be and it starts.”

Salah was back in the starting line up in the 4-1 win over Genk in the Champions League in midweek.

But Klopp’s comments suggest there is a lingering problem with his ankle which is still yet to fully recover.

The games keep coming thick and fast for the Reds, who welcome Arsenal to Anfield in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

After that they travel to Aston Villa and host Genk, before their blockbuster clash with title rivals Manchester City.
