James Forrest made it three following good work from Mohamed Elyounoussi while the Norwegian completed the scoring with a fierce volley shortly before the break.

Express Sport have rated how the Celtic players performed against Aberdeen, but do you agree?

Celtic player ratings vs Aberdeen – Scottish Premiership

GK: Fraser Forster – 5

Might as well have sat in the stands. Aberdeen failed to muster a shot all match.

RB: Jeremie Frimpong – 8

Preferred over Moritz Bauer and Hatem And Elhamed, immediately rewarding his manager with a bundled finish after 15 minutes.

Full of running all afternoon, giving the Hoops plenty of width in attack and showed impressive strength when tested shoulder-to-shoulder in defence.

CB: Christopher Jullien – 6

Will rarely have an easier 45 minutes. Given acres of space on the ball and was rested at half-time.

CB: Kristoffer Ajer – 7

Brought the ball out from defence well, driving forward and picking passes with ease.

Comfortable when asked questions defensively.

LB: Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo – 6

Solid if unspectacular on the left side of defence, doing his shift at the back but failing to pose too many questions at the other end.

CM: Scott Brown – 7

Played as a third centre-back for much of the match, allowing Ajer to step into midfield and covering for Frimpong when the youngster bombed forward.

CM: Callum McGregor – 7

A tidy display although he rarely got out of second gear, shuttling the ball forward and allowing his team-mates to express themselves.

RAM: James Forrest – 8

Buzzed around the box to good effect and was rewarded for his efforts with an excellent goal.

Caught the eye with his movement as he stretched the Dons rearguard.

CAM: Tom Rogic – 9

At the heart of every attack, pulling the strings to great effect. while displaying a calmness in possession that stopped Aberdeen from gaining any momentum.

Brilliant through-ball to Elyounoussi in the build-up to the third was the highlight of an excellent display.

LAM: Mohamed Elyounoussi – 8

Continued his fine domestic form with another superb goal, controlling Rogic’s cross on the chest before turning and volleying past Joe Lewis.

Played a big part in the third when he turned and pinned his defender, allowing Forrest to slot home.

ST: Odsonne Edouard – 8

The focal point for a dominant Celtic performance, getting the Hoops off to a flier with his 11th goal of the season.

Forced Lewis into an excellent save from a free-kick before a well-deserved early bath.

SUB: Nir Bitton (on for Jullien, 46 mins) – 6

Slotted in seamlessly at centre-back.

SUB: Vakoun Bayo (on for Edouard, 69 mins) – 5

Didn’t get a clear sight at goal.

SUB: Jonny Hayes (on for Elyounoussi, 81 mins) – N/A

Little time to make an impact as the game fizzled out.
