Catherine Tyldesley: ‘Hardest week of my life' Strictly star addresses difficult time

Catherine Tyldesley and her dance partner Johannes Radebe performed the Cha Cha Cha to Scared Of The Dark by Steps on Strictly Come Dancing last night during Halloween week.

The two received a total of 24 out of 40 points from the judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli.

Following their performance, Catherine uploaded a video of herself alongside Johannes where they reflected on their dance.

Dressed in their Halloween outfits, Catherine said: “Thank you for all your messages so far r.e. the Cha Cha Cha.”

She exhaled: “That’s done, that was the hardest week of my life babe.”

The South African dancer agreed and stated no one knows how much work Catherine put in to executing the routine.

“You know what, I’m once again very, very happy, babe,” he said. “People don’t know what you put behind this.”

Johannes continued: “I’m not going to go into it, I just want to say well done and obviously I just feel like… we have had it hard.”

Catherine added: “Totally babe, but you know what, I had the best time even though there was stuff I needed to improve on, I loved it.”

Meanwhile, last night’s Strictly Come Dancing was thrown into chaos as two people were injured.

Will Bayley, 31, wasn’t able to perform with his professional partner Janette Manrara as he sustained an injury in studio rehearsals in the week.

Explaining the unfortunate incident, Will wrote in view of his Twitter 20,000 twitter followers: “Hi everyone, I am absolutely gutted I cannot be performing tonight on Strictly with Janette, sadly I’m injured and not fit to dance.

“I hope to be back on the dance floor next week. Good luck to everyone tonight.”

Neil Jones was also unable to perform after injuring himself shortly before the start of the show.

Kevin Clifton stepped in to dance with Neil’s celebrity partner, Alex Scott, and had just 45 minutes to learn the routine.

The Grimsby-born star, who is in a relationship with Stacey Dooley, said he and Neil were “so proud” of Alex, as he shared a photo with her.

He began: “Unbelievable performance from @alexscott2 last. @mr_njonesofficial and myself were so proud of her.”(sic)

“At the last minute her partner gets an injury,” Kevin continued. “Has to pass the routine on to another professional in about 45mins. Then even when i made a mistake she carried on and got me through the routine. Talk about calm under pressure.”

He went on: “Just shows how difficult it is to get to a performance on a Saturday that comes together. It also shows how far @alexscott2 has come in 6 weeks and what fantastic work @mr_njonesofficial has been doing.

“They both deserve so much love.”

Strictly Come Dancing results is on tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.
