X Factor: Olivia Olson in tears as fans slam Simon Cowell 'Absolute disgrace'

Olivia Olson and Ricki Lake were the first casualties of the X Factor Celebrity live shows. The actress and talk show host were joined by Martin Bashir as the three stars who came bottom in the public vote. After receiving the lowest amount of votes, Ricki was eliminated before the judges decided who they wanted to keep in the ITV competition.

Louis Walsh saved his act, Olivia and Nicole Scherzinger saved her act, Martin, leaving the decision ultimately down to Simon Cowell.

The music mogul explained he wanted to save the act he thought would be more popular with the public.

Simon opted to keep Martin in the competition and Olivia was floored by the news.

As Dermot O’Leary tried to console the actress, Olivia broke down in tears and struggled to compose herself.

Another wrote: “That’s a complete b****y disaster. In an era when people want to go away from reality shows with a good feeling #XFactorCelebrity.”

“Really don’t understand the concept of X Factor this year to be honest. Just all seems rushed, wrong people going home. Just not sure #XFactorCelebrity,” a third wrote.

“#XFactorCelebrity well @SimonCowell If the public wanted Martin to stay in, he wouldn’t have been in the bottom three!!! Wrong decision,” another said.

“As if XFactorCelebrity wasn’t bad enough… then they put Martin through over Olivia who can actually sing and wants to be a singer?” another tweeted.

“#XFactorCelebrity Absolute disgrace that Olivia is going home. It’s meant to be a singing competition, not a popularity contest,” a sixth complained.

The reality star wowed judges in the auditions as she performed an original song.

She was given odds of 9/4 to win this evening from bookmakers Ladbrokes.

Max and Harvey are close behind with odds of 3/1 while Jonny Labey, V5, Vinny Jones and Victoria Ekanoye have all been chalked up at 8/1 with Ladbrokes.

“Megan’s all the rage with punters ahead of the live shows, and it looks like the only way is X Factor success for the reality TV star,” Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes.

X Factor: Celebrity continues tonight on ITV at 8.20pm.
