Jenny Ryan: X Factor Celebrity star left ‘blushing’ by Jack Whitehall’s dad ‘Made it!’

Jenny Ryan told her 60,000 Twitter followers she had “made it” last night after being featured on the celebrity edition of Gogglebox. The Chase star then admitted she was “blushing” after Jack Whitehall’s father reacted to a clip from the ITV show, which was shown in the special instalment. The 37-year-old, who will feature in X Factor: Celebrity 2019 tonight, shared a clip of the comedian and his parents Michael and Hilary talking about the quiz offering. However, the section they chose saw The Vixen losing to a team of famous faces comprised of presenters Sam and Mark, Jimmy Carr and Ann Widdecombe.

Jenny had initially posted: “Made it, ma! FINALLY I’m on @C4Gogglebox… and it’s the @SU2CUK celeb special to boot!”

Soaps Editor Duncan Lindsay replied: “Made it pal x,” as she continued: “I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT FOR FOUR LONG YEARS… and they showed me losing.”

He quipped: “Hey in this circumstance, you get what you’re given! Loser…” as she stated: “Hold that thought for the result of tomorrow’s public vote…”

The quiz champion was referencing her appearance in the first X Factor Celebrity live show this evening, after she was brought back by Simon Cowell following her initial elimination.

Jenny also tweeted: “Showed the brilliant crucial pushback by @samandmarktv, as much as it hurt – but at least @jackwhitehall’s dad was on my side.”

Her words were followed by a clip of the famous family reacting to The Chase tweeted by the official Googlebox Twitter page.

It was captioned: “Cheeky little Vixen @ITVthevixen #TheChase #CelebrityGogglebox #Gogglebox #SU2C #StandUpToCancer.”

Jenny went on to share the upload, simply writing: “*blushes*.”

The moment had seen Michael tell his companions: “Look at her, she’s a cheeky little monkey. Isn’t she?”

“Cheeky little Vixen,” his spouse replied, but he stated: “I feel sorry for that nice lady,” on seeing her fail to beat the contestants.

However, son Jack, 31, told him: “No that’s £100,000 for charity, so don’t feel too sorry for her.”

Jenny has been a regular on The Chase since 2009, after also appearing in Are You an Egghead? and University Challenge.

Meanwhile, it comes after bookmakers Ladbrokes made Megan McKenna their favourite to win Celebrity X Factor.

Ahead of tonight’s programme, the former TOWIE star heads the betting with 9/4, with twins Max and Harvey close behind at 3/1.

Jonny Labey, V5, Vinny Jones and Victoria Ekanoye have all been chalked up at 8/1 with the firm for glory, with Jenny and Try Star fancied at 10/1 apiece.

The Chase airs today at 6.25pm, while X Factor: Celebrity continues at 8.20pm – both on ITV.
