Southern Charm Star Shep Rose Apologizes For This Major Mistake – ‘I Hate Being The Architect Of My Own Demise’

Southern Charm star Shep Rose found himself in some hot water this summer after he posted a video on Twitter that showed him drunkenly harassing a woman collecting cans in New York City. At first, he refused to apologize for his actions, but now Rose says he has major regrets about how he handled himself.

“It was stupid. It was wrong. It was hurtful,” Rose told People Magazine. “I so regret that. I hate being the architect of my own demise. You know what I mean? I don’t know what to say other than I was walking down the streets of New York with friends, taking pictures and videos. It was just like a frenetic thing. I did not think about the details or the consequences. I still am regretful.”

Rose posted the video while the final episodes of Southern Charm Season 6 were airing on Bravo, and after receiving a ton of criticism he deleted the clip. Not only were fans unhappy with the 40-year-old, but his co-stars called him out during the Season 6 reunion for being “elitist.”

Rose admits that last season was rough for him, and it wasn’t just because of his own behavior. The Southern Charm star said the fans of the show who think he is a “manipulative a**” aren’t really paying attention. He claims he wants to be friends with everyone, and he genuinely has affection for a lot of the people on the Bravo series.

He says that he and bestie Austen Kroll are as close as they’ve ever been, but they have decided to stop talking about relationships. Rose also pointed out how difficult it is to be on Southern Charm because he has to walk “a razor’s edge of being funny,” while also saying what’s on his mind.

Rose says that when you speak your mind you always run the risk of offending someone, and then things can “snowball and get out of control.”

As for that video where Rose was yelling at a woman in NYC about her cans, Rose insists it was tough on him and the people he loves. He says he doesn’t want to be a part of anything like that ever again, and that was a “really dark, dark time.”

Rose says that for weeks he couldn’t think about anything else, but he had no one to blame but himself. And, that made it even harder. He says that he has learned from his mistakes, and he is now making better decisions and making promises to himself.

Shep Rose says that he is trying to focus on things that are beneficial to him, instead of just “getting hammered in New York.” He is also happy that last season is behind him and he doesn’t want to think about it again.

“I happily put that behind me in the dustbin of time,” said Rose.
