Melania Trump: FLOTUS red-faced as she ducks questions about husband Donald

The First Lady, Melania Trump made her first solo trip to Capitol Hill where she appeared with various lawmakers and senior White House officials. Melania, 49, addressed the opioid epidemic as part of her Be Best campaign while at the event. But she ignored one reporter who asked “how is the impeachment inquiry affecting you and your family?”, according to Yahoo news.

Following the visit, Melania wrote on Twitter: “Thank you to members of Congress who joined me today for a discussion re the #SUPPORTAct, signed last year as the largest piece of legislation on a single drug crisis yet.

“Your efforts in this opioid fight are instrumental & we’ll continue working on this important issue BeBest.”

The post caught the attention of Melania’s critics who were quick to air their disdain of the First Lady and her work.

One Twitter user, Marilyn, responded to Melania’s post.

She wrote: “Just another PR stunt, no substance.”

Another Twitter user posted: “Drug crisis? What about the Trump crisis?”

Lisa Leary Gertz said: “Can’t the Trumps do anything without congratulating themselves? Narcissistic.”

Other social media users questioned Melania’s role in tackling the drug issue.

The poll is just one of several which has shown a surge in support for impeachment.

An earlier poll from CBS News/YouGov found 55 percent of people approved of impeachment on September 26 to 27.

Marist College found growing interest among Americans for impeachment, with a surge from 49 percent on September 25 to 52 percent from October 3 to 8.

Mr Trump still has support from his 2016 election voters, however.
