Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Mike Bushell dealt crushing blow after dance-off

Strictly 2019 is well underway as viewers eagerly anticipate the week six performances. But tensions are running high for one contestant who has been dealt cards no contestant wishes to receive.

Following Saturday’s show viewers watched as BBC’s Mike Bushell, 53, and pro partner Katya Jones, 30, found themselves in the bottom two and had to face the dance off against David James, 49, and Nadiya Bychkova, 30.

Former footballer David was named the favourite to be given the boot last week, after four weeks in the running.

And, as predicted, he and Nadiya left the show as the judges unanimously chose to save Mike and Katya.

But although luck was on their side, it looks like being in the bottom two might catch up with the duo after the odds were revealed.

In his intro Mike said he was giving the dance the “Bushell” twist but unfortunately it wasn’t to the judges taste.

Craig Revel Horwood scored the sports presenter a very low three, leaving viewers wondering if he would make it any further in the competition.

Some fans loved the comedy value by incorporating guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro’s signature moves: “Mike Bushell is an absolute LEGEND, he’s one of the best crowd pleasers #Strictly has ever had,” a Twitter fan exclaimed.

But could it all be over for him this week?

Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher is still the favourite to win with CBBC’s Karim Zeroual not far behind.

Mike and Katya will be dancing the Tango to What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani on Saturday nights instalment but can he pull it out the bag once more?

Or will we be saying goodbye to the BBC presenter after all?

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One.
