Lucy Fallon: Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt star apologises for alter ego

Lucy Fallon, 23, took to Instagram last night to post a picture on the social media site as her TV character causes a stir in Weatherfield.

The English actress, who plays Bethany Platt in ITV soap opera Coronation Street, put the drama aside to snap a selfie in the mirror in a stylish black and white ensemble.

Striking a pose in front of a white dressing table complete with light-up mirror, the TV star spoke about her on-screen fictional character.

She captioned the image: “Bethany called… she wants me to tell you she’s sorry x.”

In the picture, Lucy wears a pair of cropped black trousers with black and white striped top and a matching black jacket.

She teamed the chic look with a pair of pointy ankle boots in the same colour.

Wearing her blonde tresses in loose waves over her shoulders, she added a pop of colour with a slick of red lipstick.

Shimmery eyeshadow and lashings of mascara finished off her look.

Recent scenes on Coronation Street saw Lucy’s character Bethany comfort her colleague Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) as his wife Sinead Tinker battles cancer.

On Monday night’s double bill, Bethany and Daniel were spotted kissing and it did not go down well with viewers at home who took to Twitter to express their ill feelings falling the betrayal.

One user wrote: “I’m FUMIN with Bethany and Daniel not gonna lie #corrie”.

While another added: “No way is Daniel cheating, he’s hurt, broken and vulnerable and that little cow is taking advantage under the guise of giving him comfort #Corrie”.

Bethany is likely to become public enemy number one on the Street for coming between Daniel and his dying wife.

In heartbreaking scenes leading up to her death, Sinead (Katie McGlynn) could discover the hurtful infidelity.
