Steph McGovern, 37, is currently expecting her first child and is on maternity leave from BBC Breakfast.
The business correspondent’s colleague Dan Walker has since hinted she will be leaving the morning show.
In view of his 582,000 followers, he tweeted: “She will be a big loss but she’ll also be fantastic at her new gig and we wish her all the best.
“Well done @stephbreakfast (I imagine you’ll have to change that now) Consistently brilliant.”
