Dan Walker Twitter: 'They're struggling' BBC Breakfast host speaks out on Harry and Meghan

Dan Walker, 42, spoke out about Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, after tuning into Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, which aired this evening on ITV. The BBC Breakfast presenter revealed he finds the Royal couple “hard not to like”, however, the star couldn’t help but point out their “struggles” in the spotlight. Dan shared a sweet image of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their trip tom the documentary in view of his 581,000 Twitter followers. Meghan was pictured cuddling baby Archie, while doting dad Harry gazed lovingly at them.

Dan added the caption: “Hard not to like #HarryAndMeghan.

“They are clearly very much in love but struggling in the spotlight.”

The TV personality then went on to address some “telling quotes” from the couple during the programme.

He continued: “Some very telling quotes…

“‘I never thought that this would be easy but I thought it would be fair and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile’.”

Fans took to the comments section to share their views on the documentary in response to Dan’s reaction.

One concerned viewer replied: “I worry about their future as a couple. This is one year in. ‘Not enough just to survive’.”

Another added: “Fantastic documentary what an amazing couple Harry & Megan are.”

“I thought she was very open… Lovely couple,” a third person commented.

During the documentary, Prince Harry’s friend Tom Bradby interviewed the couple during their 10-day royal tour around South Africa.

Meghan opened up about how she was coping with the scrutiny from the media.

She told him: “Look, any woman especially when they are pregnant you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging, and then when you have a new born – you know…

“And especially as a woman, it’s a lot.

“So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed it’s, well…”

She added: “We are taking it one day at a time.”

Harry also addressed his considerations about living in Africa in the future in the documentary, but explained it may not be possible.

The Prince divulged: “We’ve just come from Cape Town, that would be an amazing place for us to be able to to base ourselves, of course it would.

“But with all the problems that are going on there I just don’t see how we would be able to really make as much difference as we’d want to.”
