Buchanan reported he referred to Black Widow as a “standalone franchise”, appearing to imply there will be a Black Widow 2 and maybe more.
“ScarJo notes that the upcoming Black Widow is the first Marvel movie produced boy one of its actors,” he tweeted his 40,000 followers.
“She also referred to it as a ‘standalone franchise’ which is interesting if you expected it to be a one-off based on… you know.”
Black Widow is set to fall between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War in the timeline, so it will be interesting to see where a sequel solo movie would fit in.
Johansson recently teased details of the film in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying fans can expect “closure”.
“What are we gonna get out of the new movie? Closure? I hope so,” she said.
