This is not the first time the actors mentioned they did not have the best of relationships behind the scenes while shooting The Vampire Diaries together. This time around however, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley decided to put it all to rest with a hilarious video.
That’s right, the actors chose to troll all of the fans who believed they really did ‘despise’ each other on the set of the beloved TV show.
As you may remember, it all started back in June when the actress herself revealed that they ‘didn’t get along at the beginning of the show.’
But then she went on to use the word ‘despise’ multiple times to describe their relationship during love scenes since they played each other’s love interests.
Hearing this, a lot of social media users took it literally and just assumed that they really used to hate each other.
As for their trolling video, it was shot in Ibiza, Spain, where the former co-stars met and decided on shooting this clip.
At the beginning of the video, Nina, who was also the one to post the footage, can be seen just standing by a pool.
Then Paul comes from behind and surprises her: ‘Nina!’ he says, excited as he hugs her.
‘Paul! Oh my God!’ the actress reacts, obviously pleasantly surprised.
After having a chat about random topics, Nina tries to explain the headlines.
‘Hey, you know, I never got to tell you, I’m sure you saw all the…It’s so stupid. You know I love you. That’s what I was trying to get across, but obviously they took one sentence out of context.’
Paul understands and agrees that ‘It was blown out of proportion’ and assures her that he doesn’t hold onto grudges anyway, even it was true.
Nina is obviously relieved he’s not upset so they hug but Paul then pushes her into the pool!
Obviously, it was all a joke meant to throw some shade at the critics.
