I’m A Celebrity 2019: Lee Latchford-Evans signs up to jungle as line-up 'complete'?

Lee, 44, is best known for being part of the iconic pop troupe Steps but he could soon be tackling the critter-filled challenges of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! With the full line-up set to be revealed in the coming weeks as the ITV show returns next month, could the singer be amongst the cast of famous faces venturing Down Under?

So far, Lee is the only one of the foursome not to partake in a hit reality television show, with the likes of Faye Tozer, 43, taking part in Strictly Come Dancing last year.

Claire Richards, 42, has also ventured into the terrain by being a celebrity contestant on Big Brother back in 2013.

Most recently, it was announced Ian “H” Watkins is a member of the Dancing On Ice line-up for January and will be the first contestant in history to be partnered with a male professional.

It could be their fellow group member makes an appearance in the Australian jungle and speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk earlier this year, the singer expressed his desire to sign up.

Asked if he would ever consider venturing into the reality television realm, the Steps star said: “There’s a few reality shows I would do and likewise, there is a few I wouldn’t do.

“I think Strictly is one I would definitely do and I suppose the other one would be jungle. They would be the two I would consider doing.”

Of his reason for signing up for I’m A Celebrity, Lee explained: “I think there’s no harm in doing something where you’re learning something.

“I think with the jungle you learn a lot about yourself. You learn how you can be in a closed environment and you’ve got tasks to do.”

Although the hosts are in the know, fans will have to wait a little longer for the big reveal with the full line-up usually dropping just days before the series begins.

Other rumoured stars to be joining the line-up included the likes of Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, and Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, 56.

Another name thrown in the mix is former footballer and sports pundit Ian Wright, 55, with the stakes high on him entering the jungle.

According to latest odds from Ladbrokes bookmakers, the sportsman is at 1/3 to be a part of this year’s all-star cast.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said: “It looks as though the price is Wright for Arsenal’s legend, who is seemingly set to scoop a million quid for heading Down Under later this year.”

Whereas one famous face who definitely won’t make an appearance is former The Apprentice star and Countdown host, Nick Hewer, 75.

Speaking to Radio Times, the television personality revealed he had been approached by the show but turned it down.

“I’m a Celebrity… asked me, too,” after speaking about Strictly, adding: “I’d rather eat my own leg.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns next month on ITV.
