Tom Jones: The Voice UK star seen with new coach Meghan Trainor after Jennifer Hudson exit

Sir Tom Jones, 79, attended the launch of The Voice UK in Manchester last night.

The legendary singer was photographed on the red carpet with his fellow coaches ahead of the first round of blind auditions for the new series.

Sir Tom looked dapper at the BBC event in a black shirt and trousers teamed with a stylish grey patterned blazer.

He posed for pictures in the rain with returning stars Olly Murs, 35, and will.i.am, 44, and new coach Meghan Trainor, 25, at the evening event.

The All About That Bass hitmaker will replace American singer Jennifer Hudson, 38, who left the show after three seasons.

Last month, Sir Tom took to social media to break his silence on Jennifer’s departure.

Sharing two pictures of the pair together on Instagram, he told his 273,000 followers: “I will miss my singing partner!”⁣

Adding: “It’s been a pleasure getting to know and work alongside you over the last three years. Well done @iamjhud on all your upcoming projects! Keep on keeping on x”.

Last night, new coach Meghan brought some much needed glamour to the wet and windy drab evening, arriving in a black playsuit with sparkly neckline and dramatic fluffy collar.

She told her 10.4 million Instagram followers that she was excited to get started on the new series and thankful for the people who braved the wet weather to attend the launch.

She wrote: “Day 1 of @thevoiceuk!!! LOVE reuniting with my UK fam. Thank you to all of these beautiful people who stood in the rain for us. I cant wait for this season of the voice uk!”
