Star Wars 9 Rise of Skywalker: THIS Clone Wars character the KEY to Palpatine return?

Star Wars fans have been speculating just how Palpatine survived Return of the Jedi and is back for The Rise of Skywalker. Now one theorist believes Clone Wars character Talzin could be the key. The Dathomirian Force-sensitive witch was the mother of Darth Maul and built him his new legs after being chopped in half. But it’s a specific power of hers that could reveal how Palpatine returns.

According to Wookieepedia, Talzin could dematerialise her body and transform into smoke.

She could still interact with the physical world using Darth Maul’s body as a vessel.

The wiki reads: “After sacrificing her life energies to her son she receded into the spirit world, and could be revived with a sacrifice in a temple near the Nightbrother village.

“Within this temple her spirit was able to emerge from a stone monolith to directly possess Dooku, drain his life energy, and even regain her physical form, though upon receiving a fatal injury she was permanently destroyed.”

Darth Sidious was aware of her great power and considering its possibility in Star Wars canon, maybe this is how Palpatine returns.

So what if Kylo Ren attempts to resurrect Palpatine?

After all, the Disney D23 trailer showed Dark Rey, but maybe it’s Rey possessed by Palpatine.

Even so, where is Darth Sidious’ spirit now?

Well, we believe he could have survived by latching himself onto Darth Vader’s helmet.

During his “death” scene in Return of the Jedi, Anakin lifted up the Emperor to throw him off a balcony.

At this moment Darth Vader’s helmet lit up with Palpatine’s Force lightning – is this the moment of transfer?

To add to this theory, it’s now canon Star Wars lore for Sith Lords to live on through Dark Side artefacts.

In the official Darth Vader comics, Palpatine gave his apprentice the helmet of the deceased Lord Momin.

Soon after he received the artefact, the soul of Momin began speaking to Vader from the headgear, so the Emperor clearly knew he could live on in this way.

And where is Darth Vader’s helmet now? In the possession of Kylo Ren.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
