Friends reunion film: Odds SLASHED as Jennifer Aniston posts new picture

They were supposed to be there for us long after the rain started to pour. The show may have wrapped up in 2004 but continues to be syndicated and broadcast across the globe today. No wonder fans are still desperately hoping for one last coffee at Central Perk. The cast have repeatedly played down any hopes of a reunion, but a new post from Aniston just reignited speculation.

Aniston announced her arrival on Instagram by posting a picture of all six stars of the show reunited. Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry joined her grinning for the camera.

It took place during a dinner at Cox’s house and Aniston tagged the image: “And now we’re Instagram friends too.”

Talking about the evening, Aniston admitted they all “missed (Friends) every day.”

Bookies immediately slashed odds on a reunion one-off TV special or movie from 10/1 to 5/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Fans are expecting a Friends special of some sort and we wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest to see exactly that in a day, a week, a month, or even a year from now.”

Aniston herself previously revealed that it is the show’s producers who are the biggest block to any new material.

She told Variety: “Our producers wouldn’t want it, wouldn’t let us. Look, it’s not been without our desire to, because our fans have wanted it so much.

“It depends. I mean, we haven’t all sat in a room, but would we have loved to have done something together? Yeah. It would have been fun. We could have redesigned it for a couple episodes. But whatever. Maybe it’s better this way, but we’ll never know.”

So, has anything changed?

The bad news is probably not.

Chatting to radio host Howard Stern last week, Aniston said: “I honestly think, [though] we would love it, there is an idea if there is a reboot of the show, it won’t be even close to as good as what it was.

“It would ruin it.”

And nobody wants that.
