There are a number of big mysteries facing Star Wars fans ahead of The Rise of Skywalker. Who are Rey’s parents really and how is Palpatine back? There have been all kinds of theories out there and now one claims that Rey’s heritage is both of the Skywalker and Palpatine lines. A fan argues that her parents are none other than Luke Skywalker and Palpatine’s daughter. WARNING POTENTIAL LEAK MENTIONED.
Reddit user james27503 wrote: “I think we will find out that somehow Luke got up with Palps daughter.
“They both understand what it is like to be the child of a Sith Lord. Rey is the offspring of Luke and Palpatine’s daughter to be named.
“Luke worried that the Emperor’s spirit or maybe himself or whatever is coming for her, does the only thing he knows to do, hides her away, and removes himself from the Force as not to be used as a method to get to her.
“Later on during their training, her combined power of both Skywalker and Palpatine blood scares him. Her tendencies to go right to the dark scares him.
“Rey will find out her Palp heritage after her confrontation with Ben.
“She will not know about her Skywalker heritage yet. This is when she goes to Ahch-to.”

They continued: “Luke reveals to her on Ahch-to it is true that you are the granddaughter of Palp, BUT….. you are also my daughter and a Skywalker.
“You must confront the Emperor just as I had to confront Vader. But you are not alone we will be with you.
“This is why the plot point of her struggling to make contact with past Jedi, IE, Luke, Leia, Anakin, is a big deal. She will need them at the lowest possible moment.
“The movie will be about which family she chooses to identify with.
“If the leaks are true then the fact that Palpatine appealing to Rey further when Leia dies as ‘I am the only one left’ makes more sense.”

They added: “When Ben shows up it is like no[w] you are not left to just being a Palpatine.
“You are a Skywalker too and now it is your choice to be one and the Skywalkers have your back.
“At this moment she is able to see and be encouraged by Luke, Leia, Anakin.
“This is something she struggled with before but at the last moment, she can do it!!!! She uses their help and takes out Palps. In the end, you see her say Rey Skywalker as settlement of her long struggle to find who she is.”
