Fortnite Season 10 event time news, Chapter 2 map leak and server downtime?

If it happens today like fans think it will, there’s going to be more going on then just the end of Fortnite Season 10 and the new event.

Leaks have surfaced in recent days that have provided a glimpse at what is coming next, and it doesn’t look like the traditional Fortnite Season 11 we were expecting.

There’s a chance that fans will see the end of Season 10, followed by a new event and surprise server downtime.

This isn’t guaranteed but we do know that everything will be kicking off with the Fortnite Season 10 event later today.

FORTNITE SEASON 10 EVENT TIME

With the recent rumours and hints from Epic Games, it appears that today’s Fortnite Season 10 event will include some significant changes.

Fans are expecting to see the traditional map removed and replaced by something new from Epic Games.

And this could all be shown during the Fortnite Season event being held today, October 13.

From what we know so far, this in-game live event will be available to watch in servers and has a set launch.

The new event is scheduled to go live at 7pm in the UK, or 2pm EST if you live in the United States.

What will be shown during this event is still only rumours, but fans think it could include being transported to a new map.

That there might be some severe destruction involved along the way seems guaranteed, especially since Epic Games has updated Fortnite with “The End is Near” tag.

FORTNITE CHAPTER 2 LEAKS

Whatever happens during today’s Fortnite event, it appears that a new chapter is starting in-game.

This is based on a recent leak which showed some artwork from an unknown location, with the caption “Chapter 2”.

So it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that Fortnite Season 11, or whatever it is called, is going to be very different.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be a Battle Pass to buy and new skins to unlock, but fans might be doing it on a brand new map.

Images from a recent leak showcase brand new places of interest to explore, along with new vehicles to drive.

Boats can be seen in the new artwork, as can a lighthouse, which will no doubt prove to be a popular spot. But if a new map is launching with Fortnite Chapter 2, won’t that mean a new update for the game?

FORTNITE SERVER DOWNTIME

If Epic Games does decide to launch their new map later today, it will mean that they either have all the new content locked away, or that they will have to release a new update.

And from past seasonal changeovers, it seems pretty likely that a big new patch and server downtime will be required.

This could mean that Epic Games will shut down the servers straight after the Fortnite Season 10 event. This could last several hours and include a large update being released following its completion.

Epic Games has never done anything quite like this before, and it would undoubtedly prove exciting for fans. There’s also the chance that Epic will look to shut down servers but release Fortnite Chapter 2 on Monday, October 14.

The hype that this would create would be massive and would make turning everything back on a bit of a challenge.

There’s a lot we don’t know about Fortnite Season 10 ending, but it looks like we will have it all revealed to us later today.
