Breaking Bad El Camino: Is Saul Goodman going to be in El Camino?

Breaking Bad is back with its first feature-length offering, starring Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman. Creator Vince Gilligan has confirmed more than 10 familiar characters are set to appear. With AMC/Netflix series Better Call Saul still ticking along, fans are curious to see if Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) will appear.

Is Saul Goodman in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie?

Saul Goodman, the dodgy lawyer-turned-Cinnabon manager, is the focus of Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul.

In the series, we find out more about Saul, or Jimmy McGill, and how a scam artist ends up becoming a public offender.

From here, Saul still does dodgy deals and gets more and more caught up in the criminal underworld, usually due to his own actions.

Throughout the show, the audience also sees Saul in his new identity since the finale of Breaking Bad where he poses as Gene Taković, the manager of a Cinnabon cafe in Omaha, Nebraska.

Saul is forced to find a new identity after the events of the Breaking Bad series, where he accepted bribes, helped Walter White (Bryan Cranston) stay out of prison and money launder so his family could keep the money from his deals.

He meets Walter after Badger (Matt L Jones) threatens to expose Walter as the deadly drug dealer Heisenberg, and is therefore hired by Walter and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) to stop that from happening.

From here, Saul helps Walter to launder money for his family, among various other things, to keep Heisenberg out of trouble.

Eventually, things took a bad turn and, as the finale loomed, Saul knew he would need to get out fast.

He headed to Ed “the disappearer” (Robert Forster) and had a new life set up.

But will Saul Goodman appear in the new Netflix film El Camino?

At present, it has not been revealed whether that is a possibility.

Odenkirk did not attend the premiere of the new movie, which could be a sign that he will not appear.

Also, as the events of El Camino take place after the ending of Breaking Bad, fans already know that Saul is managing the sale of cinnamon rolls in Nebraska, so it may be that his appearance could damage his new identity.

With that being said, Saul’s regular associate, Mike Ehrmentraut (Jonathan Banks) has confirmed his appearance in El Camino, meaning there is always a possibility that Saul could pop up, even if just for a minute.

What fans do already know is that Jesse Pinkman is the star, as the audience finally finds out what he has been doing since the end of Breaking Bad, and how he will finally get free of the police hunt – or not.
