Amy Dowden: Strictly pro reveals 'worries' for Karim Zeroual after he 'forgot' their dance

Karim Zeroual, 25, and Amy Dowden, 28, topped the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 leaderboard tonight with a jaw-dropping score of 38 out of a possible 40 for their Tango. However, the couple admitted everything wasn’t plain sailing behind-the-scenes. In a backstage video shared by BBC Strictly’s Instagram page following their dance, Amy revealed she was concerned for the CBBC presenter when he claimed to have “forgotten” their routine just moments before they were set to perform on the show. After reflecting on the response from the judges, a stunned Karim said: “I don’t even know what to say.”

Amy then congratulated her partner as she responded: “Two 10s, top of the leaderboard.”

“What is going on?” Karim exclaimed.

The professional Ballroom and Latin dancer then detailed her worries ahead of the dance.

She explained: “He did amazing, honestly, seconds before we went on he forgot everything and I was worried.”

Karim added: “This is the truth. Right before we went on we tried going through the moves and I was just getting it all wrong.”

Fortunately, the TV personality managed to recover his memories and stole the show with the routine.

Unfortunately, the bug now appears to have affected the pro too as she coughed her way through an interview with Claudia Winkleman tonight.

Karim explained to the host: “She’s so poorly,” while Amy tried to catch her breath.

Opening up about the dance, he added: “I struggled with the Tango so much and it was so nerve wracking but I’m happy that I got through it.”

Amy then candidly responded: “I was so nervous.

“A minute ago he couldn’t remember it.”

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs tomorrow at 7.15pm on BBC One.
