Joe Giudice Departs For Italy After Being Released From ICE Custody

Joe Giudice has officially left the United States for Italy. After being released from ICE Custody, Joe boarded a plane to his home country, while he waits for his deportation appeal in the U.S.

People magazine is reporting The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is headed to Rome, where he will stay for the foreseeable future. Joe’s lawyer confirmed his exit from the ICE facility and the U.S. in a statement to the weekly magazine.

“He is en route to Italy right now. He spoke to Teresa and Gia from the plane, and he is extremely happy to be released, more than words can describe. We are still fighting, and it is his desire to return home to the United States to be reunited with his family,” said lawyer James J. Leonard Jr.

The reality TV star has been in an ICE detention center since last March after he was released from prison. Last month his original request to await his deportation appeal process at his New Jersey home was denied.

Joe had hoped to spend time with his wife, Teresa, as well as their four daughters Gia age 18, Gabriella age 15, Milania age 14, and Audriana age 10 at their home. He also wanted to work so he could help earn money for his family.

After his request to be released to his New Jersey home was denied, Joe filed a petition requesting a release to Italy. The reason for his desired freedom in Italy is the same. He wants to earn money and hopefully spend time with his family if they choose to visit him.

Despite being on his way to Italy, Joe and his lawyer are hopeful the RHONJ star will be allowed to return to the U.S. The final decision in his deportation case should be rendered in November.

Joe Giudice is on his way to Italy. Teresa Giudice’s husband has been granted his freedom from ICE, but he may not return to the United States. On an episode of RHONJ, Teresa had publicly said she would not do a long-distance relationship. If Joe were deported, she would seek a divorce.

The Giudice family has been through the wringer with Joe’s deportation battle. They have all fought hard and pleaded for his appeal to be overturned. Now, as he heads to Italy, it is clear they may have lost the battle.
