Principal photography has wrapped on Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. And now C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels has described a brutal shoot of one scene. The 73-year-old is currently promoting his autobiography and revealed that the Rey vs Kylo Ren lightsaber duel – as seen on The Rise of Skywalker poster – took six days to shoot. A description of what he said at one event was spotted by Star Wars News Net saying: “He was there during the filming of the official poster scene, says it took them 6 days to film that scene. It was brutal because it was in November and it was non-stop wave after wave.”
Star Wars fans will be aware that Kylo Ren is currently in possession of Darth Vader’s helmet.
And we also now know it’s canon that Sith Lord can live on through Dark Side artefacts.
In the official Darth Vader comics, Palpatine gave his apprentice the helmet of the deceased Lord Momin.
Soon after he received the artefact, the soul of Momin began speaking to Vader from the headgear, so the Emperor clearly knew he could live on in this way.
Meanwhile, another theory argues that Palpatine isn’t really back, but is actually a projection controlled by Kylo Ren.
Reddit user HansZarkovLives argues: “Just like we’ve learned that Kylo has used his helmet to obscure his true identity in the past, as well as fit in with the Knights of Ren, what if the Emperor in this movie is just a system of control created by Kylo once he starts to feel that the First Order is slipping away from him?
“That Hux and others don’t want him in charge?
“So he creates the image of the Emperor…as a system of control.
“Someone else in charge that people will follow. Could be a cool evolution for Kylo on next-level strategy.”
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
