Stacey Solomon reveals how she really feels about boyfriend Joe Swash quitting big role

Stacey Solomon, 30, has opened up in an interview with this week’s OK! Magazine about how she feels about partner Joe Swash, 37, quitting his presenting gig on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’s Extra Camp.

“We just want him to be happy,” she admitted.

“He loves the jungle so much but he feels really ready to say, ‘I’ve done 10 years, it’s been an amazing decade,’ and stop there.”

Stacey and Joe met in 2010 and recently welcomed their first baby together. Between the two of them they have four “amazing” boys from previous relationships, and she admitted that she didn’t want him to miss milestones in their lives.

“Three months in Australia is a longtime to be away from the boys,” she explained.

“He would have missed out on some big milestones.”

The couple have fans melting over their honest relationship, posting loving messages and photos of each other on their social media.

Sharing a statement on Instagram earlier this year, Joe revealed he wanted to spend a bit more time at home with his family after the birth of their first child.

He posted: “I can’t believe I’m about to say this,” he wrote. “For 10 incredible years I’ve been lucky enough to host my favourite show on telly.

“Being a part of the I’m a Celebrity After Show has been everything I could have dreamed of and more. But I’ve come to the decision that this year I’m going to have to leave my jungle family and stay home with my wonderful real family.”

He continued: “I don’t want to miss a second with Stacey and our amazing boys so 3 months in Australia just seems too make to bare this year [sic].”

The jungle king won the show in 2008 and joined the presenting panel the following year.

He was joined by Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffat in 2017, who also revealed she would be leaving the show.

“For 3 years I have enjoyed a jungle life, being crowned queen of the jungle and having the greatest time presenting extra camp with Swashy and Joel who I now class as best friends,” she wrote, sharing her own statement on Instagram.

As fans gear up for the highly anticipated instalment, two familiar jungle favourites have been unveiled as the new faces of the spin-off show.

Inbetweeners star Emily Atack, who was runner-up on the reality TV show last year, and 2016 jungle favourite Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas are taking over from former hosts Joe and Scarlett.

The newcomers will return to the jungle to join comedian Joel Dommett on the ITV2 show.

Speaking on her new gig, Emily said: “I’m thrilled that I get to make more amazing memories in a place that means so much to me.”

Adam added: “I can’t believe that I’m heading back to the jungle, this is something I never saw coming my way! We’re going to have so much fun… just keep me away from those spiders!”

Joel joined the nightly live show in 2017 and said he was excited to be returning with “a new bunch of amigos”.
