Cuba Gooding Jr. Appears In Court On Groping Charge — Gets Hit With Another Indictment

Cuba Gooding Jr. appeared in a New York court on Thursday, October 10, 2019, on charges of forcible touching and sexual abuse. Though the actor appeared all smiles when he arrived at Manhattan’s Supreme Court, he left with a downcast demeanor. While in court today, Cuba Gooding Jr. was hit with a new indictment that will remain sealed from the public until October 15, 2019.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is facing charges stemming from a June incident that took place at a Manhattan nightclub. TMZ unearthed footage from the night the alleged incident took place that purports to show the Oscar-winning actor groping a woman’s leg and breasts. Cuba has entered a plea of not guilty and his defense team says that what appears in the video is not what the prosecution describes.

The woman who is seen in the video below remains unidentified. It is also unclear whether the new indictment is related to the current case or if it involves another case with a different accuser.

Cuba Gooding Jr. will return to court on October 15, 2019. At that point, the details of the new indictment will be revealed.

Cuba’s work has slowed down since he has faced the allegations. He finished filming the movie Life in a Year, but there is no release date set yet Cuba currently has one project in the works and that is Steam, which he plans to act in and direct. Right now, Steam is in the early script stages.

Cuba and his team of lawyers did not speak to news reporters following court. At this point, it’s unclear whether they knew in advance of the additional charge. It was believed that jury selection would begin today but that did not happen. It’s unclear whether jury selection will begin on the 15th or at a later date.
