Zelda Breath of the Wild 2: Is THIS when Nintendo will drop next update? Switch latest

Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is arguably the most highly anticipated Nintendo Switch game on the horizon.

Announced as a surprise reveal at the end of the E3 Nintendo Direct, so far only a short teaser trailer of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 has been showcased.

The BoTW 2 trailer showed Link and Zelda exploring a Hyrule that looks much worse for wear and discovering a frightening mummified creature.

It looks like Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 will have a much darker tone than the original BoTW.

Fans have been left wondering if Breath of the Wild 2 will be the Majora’s Mask to Zelda BoTW’s Ocarina of Time.

A release date for Breath of the Wild 2 hasn’t been revealed yet, with all Zelda fans knowing for certain is that it’s in development right now.

As Zelda fans wait for more official news on Breath of the Wild 2 a compelling theory has emerged as to when the next BoTW 2 trailer could drop.

YouTuber HMK has predicted when Nintendo could reveal the next Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 trailer.

They believe that BoTW 2 won’t be making its next appearance in a Nintendo Direct, but that it should make an appearance before 2019 is over.

In a post online HMK predicted that a new Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 trailer should be getting showcased this December.

The YouTuber believes that more BoTW 2 footage is set to debut during The Game Awards 2019.

The reason HMK has predicted this, is that, the original Breath of the Wild had a showing at three separate Game Awards events.

Given BoTW’s previous close relationship with The Game Awards, it seems possible BoTW 2 could feature in an upcoming TGA event.

And, with rumours that Breath of the Wild 2 could have a release date as early as 2020, a showing at this year’s ceremony makes sense.

Last year Nintendo made a number of announcements at The Game Awards that were aimed at Switch fans.

The House of Mario unveiled Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and also announced the first Smash DLC character – Joker from Persona 5.

Could Ninty follow this up with a blockbuster announcement on Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 at this year’s Game Awards?

That remains to be seen, but BoTW 2 fans should surely be marking The Game Awards 2019 in their calendars.

The Game Awards 2019 is set to be held on Thursday December 12.
