Destiny 2 DOWN – At Capacity: Server status latest as Bungie start maintenance

Bungie has taken Destiny 2 servers down for emergency maintenance tonight.

The dev and support teams confirmed the news earlier today, during a time in which background maintenance was being performed.

This was supposed to not need any server downtime, but it appears, things have changed.

This would explain the “at capacity” error messages Guardians have been receiving tonight.

It’s unclear how long maintenance might last or when servers will be back online.

Bungie has not shared an ETA for any of their emergency plans for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

We do know that a new Destiny 2 update is going live tonight and is probably part of the ongoing process.

“Destiny 2 services are being brought offline for emergency maintenance. Stand by for updates,” a message from Bungie reads.

Patch notes for today’s Destiny 2 hotfix have not been released, so we can’t be sure what is being fixed.

While we don’t have official updates notes yet, we do know about some other server-side changes being worked on today.

Information on those changes can be found below and are sourced directly from Bungie’s community team:

“Due to recent feedback asking for a reduction in the amount of Heavy ammo available in Crucible we are issuing a server-side change to the following modes. These changes should be live now!

“Control will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 45 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 45 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

“Clash and Supremacy will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 15 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

“We don’t have server-side settings to change up the new 3v3 Survival mode but do plan to make the following changes in an update later this month.

“Survival will soon have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then again 60 seconds later just as the tiebreaker objective spawns. It is currently spawning in at 30 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

“The amount of heavy ammo granted will be reduced to match the amounts in Elimination and the 6v6 modes.

“We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.”
