James Jordan, 41, has said Craig Revel Horwood, 54, should be axed from Strictly Come Dancing as the BBC show no longer needs “Mr Nasty”.
The former professional on the show hit out at the judge telling the Daily Star: “The show doesn’t need Craig. He should go.
“If Craig was gone they wouldn’t notice any difference at all.”
The dancer, who often clashed with the infamous critic when on the show, added: “The viewers wouldn’t miss him either. No-one would miss him.”
Craig has appeared on the judging panel since the BBC show hit our TV screens back in 2004 alongside fellow judges Bruno Tonioli, Arlene Philips and Len Goodman.
With new judges coming and going, James has made it clear that if big characters like Len and Dame Darcey Bussell can leave the panel then Craig won’t be missed.
“Len was a much bigger personality than Craig and the show is still huge without him,” he said.
“So it would still be a big success. Strictly will always be a juggernaut of a show no matter who you have on there. The format just works.”
The former Strictly pro is known for his sharp tongue and straight talking attitude, even after he left Strictly in 2014.
James walked away from the show after they offered him “a reduced role”, but still watches the series.
Addressing each contestant in a tweet, he notes his comments during the live shows: “Mike,” he began after watching BBC presenter Mike Bushell and pro dancer Katya Jones’ performance on Saturday night.
“Mmmmm I loved Mike at the beginning and thought he could be a another Chris Hollins but I feel he’s gone backwards a bit,” he wrote.
“Synchronicity issues, a couple of places he could have helped Katya more. I still love him and want him to do well.”
His commentary seems to be a hit with his followers, with one user commenting: “My fav part of strictly waiting for you to tweet you always hit the nail on the head.”
Another tweeted: “I live for @The_JamesJordan commentary alongside watching Strictly! So honest and I (nearly!) always agree!”
Last year the former dancer didn’t mince his words as he tweeted his opinion on Stacey Dooley’s final performance, declaring it a “complete mess” and that he “didn’t understand it at all.”
James and his wife Ola Jordan, also a former Strictly pro, recently announced they are expecting their first child together via IVF.
The couple who have been married for 16 years, said they have been “desperate” to have children after their intense careers got in the way of starting a family.
James explained in an interview with HELLO! Magazine: “The irony is that for 17 years during our career we tried not to have children because dancing is not a career that easily fits in with family life.”
“We’ve been with each other for 20 years, married for 16, travelled the world, achieved amazing things in our careers,” he said.
“Trophies, accolades, Ola won Strictly Come Dancing, I won Dancing On Ice. But finding out that we are pregnant is no doubt our biggest achievement ever.”
