Ivanka Trump savaged for reaction to Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry

Ivanka Trump was blasted online for her first reaction to her father’s impeachment inquiry on Fox News. The US Democratic Party has begun a formal impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump over allegations that he pressured a foreign power to damage a political rival. Mr Trump has denied wrongdoing and called the efforts a “witch hunt”.

His eldest daughter, Ivanka, who also works as a Senior Advisor in the White House, did not comment on the proceedings.

She said: “I think everything’s a question of priorities.

“We have our priorities in the White House.

“We’re fighting every day for the American worker.”

She continued: “We’re fighting every day to improve the quality of life for every single person in this country.

“And we’re delivering in that fight and on that promise.

“That’s our priority. USMCA – let’s get it passed Congress.”

One Twitter user posted the video with the caption: “Perhaps we should talk about the $220+ million you’ve raked in during the last two years, profiting off your father’s presidency.”

Each country’s legislature still must ratify the agreement.

USMCA is an alternative to The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

NAFTA is a treaty also between the United States, Canada, and Mexico which went into effect in 1994.

President Trump has been highly critical of NAFTA, oftentimes describing it as “perhaps the worst trade deal ever made”.

He claims USMCA is “a terrific deal for all of us”.
