Juventus return to the top after Gonzalo Higuaín seals win over Inter

Juventus handed their former manager Antonio Conte his first Serie A defeat at Internazionale and climbed to the top of the table with a 2-1 win at San Siro.

Gonzalo Higuaín’s 80th-minute winner secured a “derby d’Italia” victory for the reigning champions. Paulo Dybala gave Maurizio Sarri’s side a fourth-minute lead but Lautaro Martínez responded from the penalty spot 14 minutes later.

But with 10 minutes remaining, Miralem Pjanic exchanged passes with Cristiano Ronaldo and then slipped in Higuaín, who confidently swept home the winner.
