PS4 FREE game download warning: Last chance to play this classic adventure for free

PS4 fans have until the end of the weekend to download and play part of a platforming classic for free.

During Sony’s most recent State of Play presentation, the company announced that a free MediEvil demo would be available ahead of its release date.

The only catch is that the MediEvil demo is only available for a limited time on PS4.

And the bad news is that the short-lived demo is about to be removed for good, so you’d better hurry and download if you want to play it.

According to Sony, the free MediEvil demo will be taken offline at 11.59pm BST on October 6.

If you’re on the fence about the MediEvil remake, then the demo is definitely worth checking out before it disappears.

Unlike many similar demos, it’s quite a generous offering, containing the first two levels of the game.

Sony explains more: “The illustrious Sir Daniel Fortesque cordially invites you to try the MediEvil: Short-lived Demo, where you can hack, slash and blunder your way through Dan’s Crypt and The Graveyard – the first two levels of MediEvil.”

Better yet, fans of the demo can actually unlock some armour that carries over to the full game.

“Got something to prove?” the post continues. “That sounds familiar… Look carefully around Sir Dan’s tomb to find an exclusive helmet which makes his life (or should that be death?) more difficult.

“This uniquely challenging armour can be acquired in this demo and carries through to the full game too! Be sure to grab it while you can… this limited-time demo is decomposing fast.”

The demo may not be long for this world, but at least the MediEvil release date is just a few weeks away on October 25.

MediEvil is a remake of the 1998 PSOne original, complete with improved visuals and gameplay.

The game launches with a budget price tag of just £24.99, although a Digital Deluxe Edition is available for £34.99.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Super Armour in-game armour set, a MediEvil digital art book, a digital comic book, the original soundtrack and a Dynamic theme.

“Relive the original adventure on PlayStation 4,” reads the official description. “The beloved fan-favourite has been completely remade from the grave up, blending classic gameplay with stunning visuals, all in eye-popping 4K.

“Step into the bones of Sir Daniel Fortesque, a slightly inept (and long dead) knight accidentally resurrected by his enemy, the evil sorcerer Zarok. With a second chance to foil his greatest foe, Dan will once again set out to save the kingdom of Gallowmere and earn his place as a true hero.”
