Mrs Obama (nee Robinson) married Mr Obama in 1992. They have two daughters, Malia and Sasha. Mrs Obama wrote: “27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure.

The Obamas lived in the White House as First Family for eight years.

Mr Obama was twice elected US President.

This is the maximum under current US electoral law.

He won the 2008 and 2012 elections defeating John McCain and Mitt Romney.

Thus he served as POTUS from January 20 2009 – January 20 2017.

The favourite from the Democrats is Elizabeth Warren.

Ms Warren’s husband is Law professor Bruce H. Mann.

She has two children with her first husband Jim Warren.

These are daughter, Amelia Warren, 48 and son Alexander.

Trump is currently seeking re-election.

His current opponents are former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, former lllinois congressman Joe Walsh and former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld.

Ms Warren was registered as a Republican as recently as 1996.

Trump spent several years as a Democrat member.

He originally defected to the Reform Party but eventually returned to the Republicans.
