During an interview for Harper’s Bazaar, Busy Philipps admitted that there was a time she seriously considered divorcing her husband, Marc Silverstein. The reason? Apparently, he was not involved enough as a parent.
The chat with author Eve Rodsky for the outlet involved the man as well as they revealed how splitting the parenting responsibilities was a real issue in their marriage to the point that it almost led to it ending.
As you may know, the two have been married since 2007.
They are the parents of two girls, Birdie, 11, and 6 year old Cricket.
Talking about their uneven parenting responsibilities at the time, Busy said that: ‘My thinking was that if I leave, at least maybe I would get two days off a week.’
Silverstein explained his point of view, arguing that ‘I like being good at stuff. And I did not feel like I was good [in the home], so I just stayed away.’
Fortunately, however, as soon as his wife confronted him and threatened divorce, Marc was quick to try his best.
‘Marc was like, ‘I will do anything.’ And I was like, ‘OK, do everything then. Because I’ve done it all, all by myself, and I am done, dude.’
Busy admitted that she did not actually expect anything from him and was already ‘fully out the door.’
In the end, however, they clearly made it work and it was Silverstein who ended up staying at home with their daughters after he realized it was the best solution for them, following therapy sessions.

‘I realized that deep happiness comes from family. Once I figured out what I could bring to the table, things really changed. I wanted to do more,’ the man revealed.
