Anneka Rice: Kevin Clifton’s Strictly partner ‘sobs' in training after unveiling injuries

Anneka Rice, 61, is preparing to take to the dance floor with Kevin Clifton on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night.

The star was busy in the studio rehearsing before the big night today, where she was surprised with a birthday cake.

Anneka uploaded a video of the moment to her Instagram account, where she said she was “sobbing”.

The star stood in the middle of the floor surrounded by her co-stars and crew as they sang happy birthday to her.

She wrote in the caption: “Oh my God! This just happened. During rehearsals.

“I’m sobbing. #strictly #birthday #cake #song #happybirthday @bbcstrictly.”

Anneka and Kevin are dancing the Charleston tomorrow night to song, Woo Hoo by The 5678’s from Kill Bill.

Training for the dance hasn’t gone too well this week, as Anneka unveiled painful looking bruises on her body.

Hours before posting her birthday post, Anneka said the people who work in wardrobe were shocked at the amount of bruises covering her body.

She said to the camera: “Oh my goodness, the level of bruising on my bottom!

“I’ve just had a wardrobe fitting for this week and everyone’s gone ‘What’s happened!?’”

Anneka continued: “I’ll show you what I mean, this is just one on the front.”

The presenter then lifted up her top to showcase a dark bruise to her fans.

“There are bruises in places I barely knew I had,” she said.

Anneka joked: “Kevin, what have you done to me?”

She wrote beside the video on Instagram: “Dancing is dangerous. It’s murder on the dance floor #strictly @bbcstrictly.”

Anneka will mostly likely be safe this week, as David James is the favourite to be voted off the competition.

“David just about managed to make it through last weekend but we think he is on borrowed time already. He’s our clear favourite to be eliminated from Strictly this weekend,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

While Kelvin Fletcher is the current favourite to win, followed closely behind by Karim Karim Zeroual.

Strictly Come Dancing airs tomorrow on BBC One at 7.15pm.
