Surface Earbuds release: Microsoft targets Apple AirPods with its new wireless headphones

The wireless earbud revolution shows no signs of stopping with Microsoft now unleashing its Surface Earbuds on the world.

These new in-ear headphones are similar to many other headphones on the market with them offering a wire-free way of listening to music. Microsoft unveiled the Surface Earbuds at a packed hardware event in New York City, where it also announced the Surface Laptop 3Surface Pro 7,  and a new 4G-enabled, ultra-thin two-in-one called Microsoft Surface Pro X.

It also unmasked two dual-screen devices – the Surface Neo, which runs a new version of Windows 10 and ships with a Surface Pen stylus and a detachable keyboard, and the Surface Duo, which is powered by Android 10 and designed to boost productivity on the move.

Surface Earbuds function like every other true wireless earbuds on the market right now. Users simply pop them in their ears with the buds instantly connecting to their smartphone.

Microsoft says that the Surface Earbuds have been designed with comfort in mind with users getting a fit that’s secure but fine to wear for long periods.

Along with the unique design these wireless music makers include a 24-hours of battery life via their clever charging case and compatibility with Microsoft’s Office software.

This means that, using voice controls, you can use the earbuds to interact with this popular programme and even perform tasks such as creating captions in real-time.

Touch sensors on each earbud can help you navigate through your digital life including controlling your music.

You can play, pause and skip your songs with simple gestures.

Another neat feature is being able to talk with the buds then translating what you say into a number of languages.
