In the footage, the shark can be seen swimming through the shallow waters as it approached the couple. Although it is unclear where the close encounter originates from, in the video, published by World Star Hip-Hop, two bystanders try to alert the swimmers.
Ominously, the shark’s fin turns to approach the couple who upon realising their desperate peril, attempt to swim away.
Quickly, the man manages to swim to shallower waters where he instantly stand-ups and attempts to bellow instruction to his partner.
The woman also attempts to swim to shore as the shark comes incredibly close.
Luckily for the pair, the massive shark swims away from the couple.
The terrifying close call comes as a photo of a great white shark went viral where it shows the predator coming close to encountering a nearby surfer.
Occurring off the coast of Massachusetts, the photograph was shared on Facebook.
The image went viral across Facebook after it showed the surfer being stalked by a dorsal fin appearing out of the water.
Accompanying the image, the caption gave a gentle reminder for all surfers and to be vigilant going into the peak season for shark activity.

Mr Zimmerman revealed that he had only been in the water for a matter of minutes before seeing the fin of the shark appear out of the water.
The surfer told a local news organisation: “It was pure shock, and you see literally the moment when I recognise what it is, and my only response is to lift my feet out of the water and drop my jaw.”
Mr Zimmerman’s wife, Sarah McAteer said that seeing the picture made her “sick to the stomach” over what could have happened to her husband.
She added: “It made me nauseous.
“It made me sick to my stomach when I saw it.”
The picture was taken by Joe Mault from New Orleans.
Mr Mault praised McAteer for how calmly he reacted to the event.
He said: “He very calmly turned around and paddled back in.”
According to the International Shark Attack File (ISAF), most attacks are what experts consider a being “unprovoked”.
The most common areas for attacks occur on the beaches and shores of the US with the ISAF calculating that there have been 1,441 shark attacks since records began.
