Overwatch Halloween 2019 event release date reveal coming soon for October

We could find out the launch date and times for the next Overwatch Halloween event very soon.

While we haven’t heard much about the returning celebrations, the news seems likely to drop later this week.

The dates for Halloween Terror 2018 were shared on October 1, followed by a launch little more than a week later.

This would suggest we might just be days away from the big reveal, although it should also be noted that Blizzard hasn’t been exact with their yearly timings.

Halloween Terror doesn’t have a set annual release date but it does always kick off way ahead of the spooktacular holiday date itself.

Last year saw the Halloween Terror event return on October 9 and end on October 31 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

it featured changes to Junkenstein’s Revenge, a range of new skins to unlock, as well as loot box rewards for returning players.

So far, news remains thin on the ground. However, there have been suggestions that JunkerTown will be one of the maps transformed for this year’s event.

It should be noted that Blizzard has yet to share their plans or skin designs for the Halloween celebrations in 2019.

Here’s the press release released last year for Halloween 2018, including details on rewards available to fans:

“For the next three weeks, we’re celebrating the scariest time of year with a spine-tingling seasonal event: Overwatch Halloween Terror.

“Expand your collection of seasonal items and relive the chilling tale of Junkenstein’s Revenge, our action-packed PvE brawl.

“This year (2018), we’ve added two new heroes to Junkenstein’s Revenge: Brigitte and Tracer.

“We’ve also introduced new Halloween-themed items for you to unlock—including six new legendary skins such as Banshee Moira, Jack-o’-lantern Wrecking Ball, and Enchanted Armor Pharah—alongside our growing collection of spooky gear from previous years.

“You can also get 10 bonus fright-filled Halloween Loot Boxes with each purchase of the 50 Halloween Loot Boxes bundle through October 31.”

And while we would love to find out more about the Halloween Terror today, there’s a chance Blizzard may wait a little longer. The Overwatch League Finals just wrapped up and featured some great action between the San Francisco Shock and the Vancouver Titans.

It even featured Architect for the Shock scaling a Chandelier on Eichenwalde using a Bastion Ult. This was an improvised move during the game that was originally meant to include Mei boosting the hero up using an Ice Wall.

It ended with a Shock 4-0 victory and leaves the way open for Blizzard to announce their next big Overwatch event. Halloween is expected to include the same mini-games as past years, along with old skin designs and new ones for 2019.
