The Walking Dead season 10: Alpha’s death ‘sealed’ as star drops huge revenge clue

The Walking Dead viewers are preparing for a hugely different instalment of the show this year, as many things have changed in the past few seasons. Perhaps the biggest differences in the show so far are the removal of Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) from the playing field, and the addition of Alpha (Samantha Morton). Alpha has become the annual “bad guy” in the show – along with her followers the Whisperers. And, while the fans are enjoying the terror and menace she brings to each episode, Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) seems eager to take her out in season ten, according to her actor, Melissa.

Carol feels particularly downtrodden in the upcoming tenth season of the show as the final few episodes of season nine saw her making a harrowing discovery.

After not being able to find Henry (Matt Lintz), his decapitated-but-living head was found on top of a pike – put there by the Whisperers.

As Carol was quite protective of Henry, this sent her into a frenzy which remains in season ten, leaving her eager to bring the Whisperers – and Alpha – to a bloody end.

Carol star Melissa recently spoke at the premiere of the show’s tenth season, where she discussed Carol’s pathos in the new episodes.

“Carol likes to isolate and we see a little bit of that… but we also see a lot that we’ve never seen before over the past nine seasons.

“There’s a lot new. There’s a lot that Carol does that I’ve never seen her do… a lot of aspects expressed in this character that I’ve never seen before.”

Revenge has never been at the top of Carol’s priorities over the years, so could Melissa be teasing a vicious new look at the normally reserved character?

Meanwhile, the franchise’s creator Robert Kirkman has spoken out about why he recently killed off Rick Grimes in the comic books – shortly before bringing the story to an end.
