Ivanka Trump confronted by Star Wars legend Mark Hamill in vicious social media post

Ivanka Trump, 37, shared a family snapshot on Twitter with her seven million followers in which one of her children is sporting a Stormtrooper outfit, alongside the caption “the force is strong in our family”. Mark Hamill – a proactive critic of the Trump administration – was quick to “correct” the First Daughter in a tweet of his own. He wrote: “You misspelled “Fraud.”#GoForceYourself”

The 68-year-old – who played Luke Skywalker in the multi billion franchise which won him the Saturn Award for Best Actor three times – caused a stir among social media users.

Another Twitter user likened the Trumps to the Sith, the antagonists to the Jedi as the dark side of the Force.

She wrote: “Your father is doing to this country what Palpatine did to the galaxy.

“You are the evil empire and the rebellion is just beginning.”

In other words, with Palpatine the main antagonist of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Scottish actor Ian McDiarmid, as the emperor of the Galactic Empire and master of the Darth Vader, the Twitter user summed up the Trump family as the epitome of ‘evil’.

Earlier this month Mr Hammill posted a mock photo of Trump wearing a black hooded cape next to the comment ‘We all know this guy is full of… Sith”.

Carl Christensen agreed, writing “the dark side of the force is strong with ‘em”.

Meanwhile, another Twitter user posted a photo of the former US president Barack Obama, naming him ‘a true Jedi’.

It’s not the first time that Hamill has blasted the Trump White House with a “Star Wars”focused dig.

Last year, Mr Hamill said Darth Vader was better than President Trump because the character ‘repented’.

Speaking on a podcast hosted by The Washington Post, he said “He [Vader] saw the error of his ways. I don’t see either one of them doing that.”

The actor frequently attacks the president, and last year criticised Mr Trump over the special counsel investigation into Russia’s election interference, as well as policy issues on immigration, The Hill reported.

Last month he posted a fake advertisement for ‘Trump tear gas’ after images of migrants fleeing from tear gas fired by Customs and Border Protection agents at the US-Mexico border went viral.

US officials have used tear gas as a migrant deterrent for the last year in a bid to deter Central American migrants from crossing a giant border that leads into San Diego.

In another Twitter onslaught, Mr Hamill raised concerns over the power of the US president, warning readers Mr Trump could ‘end the world in seven and a half seconds’, while voters would have to wait 14 months to elect a new president to office.

Mr Hamill will allegedly star as the Force ghost in the forthcoming film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker set to be released on 19 December 2019.
