Michelle Obama heartbreak: FLOTUS reveals what Barack was like before they fell in love

Michelle and Barack rose to international prominence after becoming President and First Lady of the US in 2008. During her ‘Moderated Conversation’ tour in Winnipeg, Canada, Michelle admitted that she was skeptical of him at first. She claimed that Barack benefited from her “having such a low bar”.

But she added: “He didn’t care about working at the big firm, he didn’t care about making money.

“Before I fell in love with him, I fell in love with him as a person.”

The first of many talks on her tour named “A Conversation with Michelle Obama”, the Q&A-style presentation mentioned how women often doubt themselves when a man would not.

She then revealed how she has finally realised she was good enough in her 50s.

She also mentioned the challenges of parenting and the power all people have to inspire others.

She said: “The power to raise a good human being, to me, is more powerful than any world leader.”

However, she also revealed a shocking revelation about her husband, former US President Barack Obama.

Although the couple are known for regularly quipping at each other in jest, Michelle may have just pushed it too far.

The event was moderated by the chancellor of the University of Manitoba Anne Mahon.

The media was not allowed to photograph or film her talk.

Michelle connected her experience of privilege in later life with the lives of her audience.

She mentioned how she cried when she sent her daughter to university and how insecure she was when she gave birth to her first born.

She also worked to inspire her audience and empathise with them.

She said: “I want everybody in this auditorium to think to themselves, ‘I can change a life.’

“The question just becomes: whose life are you going to pick?”

Michelle later mentioned her working class upbringing on the south side of Chicago.
