Marvel to suffer cruel blow in new Star Wars cast twist? Here’s why

Marvel and Captain America favourite Chris Evans has hinted he could be in Marvel president and executive producer Kevin Feige’s new Star Wars film, as Disney move the franchise in a new direction. Chris played the shield warrior Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for 10 years. But after the crescendo of Avengers: Endgame, the actor has said goodbye to his character for good. Responding to a particularly juicy question on Twitter, Chris dropped a surprising bombshell about his future in film and with Disney.

Film website Collider asked him: “Which MCU actor would you like to see pop up in a #StarWars movie?”

And in an unexpected turn of events, the Captain America star simply replied: “Me.”

It was revealed earlier this week that Feige is being drafted in to help Kathleen Kennedy make the next Star Wars movie, and there has been a number of questions over the boss’s role in Marvel going forward.

Feige will be working alongside Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn too, and will see the Star wars Universe go in a completely new direction after The Rise of Skywalker is released in December.

Horn told The Hollywood Reporter: “We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on.

“Not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company.

“Including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox.

“With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling.”

Horn went on to shed further light as to why the new partnership has arisen.

“Knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together,” he added.

The publication went on to claim Feige has already approached a “major actor” to pitch a specific role in the new film.

The Hollywood Reporter added the new information had come from a “knowledgeable source”.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released December 20.

Marvel phase 4 is set to launch next year.
