Maduro slams Trump's 'disgusting face' in crazed rant about US President's impeachment

Venezuelan President Maduro has been heavily criticised by Trump in recent years as the Latin American country has been crippled by its President’s economic recklessness and dictatorial regime. Now, as impeachment proceedings are approaching, Maduro has used the opportunity to direct malicious insults in Trump’s direction. Referring to the UN General Assembly, Maduro expressed anger at Trump’s “disgusting face” as he spoke to the “lapdogs of US imperialism” and said his “fatal obsession” with ousting him from Venezuelan Presidency as an embarrassment. Trump has recognised opposition leader Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s rightful leader and this week celebrated an agreement reached by 16 Latin American nations to slap sanctions on senior Maduro officials.

Guaido will also benefit from tripled US aid to Caracas that will fund £42million’s worth of pro-democracy campaigning, with a third of the new budget directed to Guaido’s team in order to train them for governance should they succeed in ousting Maduro.

Trump recently called Maduro a “Cuban puppet” who is “hiding from his own people while Cubans plunder Venezuela’s oil wealth to sustain its own corrupt communist rule”.

He added: “According to a recent report by the United Nation Human Rights Council, women in Venezuela stand in line for 10 hours every day waiting for food, over 15,000 people have been detained as political prisoners, modern-day death squads are carrying out thousands of extrajudicial killings.”

Maduro’s personal attack on Trump was also accompanied by political hostility too. The dictator claimed Trump’s efforts to remove him from government were merely a distraction tactic to divert attention from incoming impeachment chaos.

Trump may have broke the law if he did in fact ask the Ukraine government to investigate Joe Biden.

The President and his supporters allege that Biden abused his power to pressure Ukraine to back away from a criminal investigation that could implicate his son, Hunter.

In a transcript that was comprised by accounts of those in the room during the phone call, it appears Trump hinted at US aid as a motivation for Kiev to ‘do the US a favour’.

Despite growing evidence, Trump described the prospect of impeachment hearings as a “joke”.

It is not just Trump’s domestic credibility that is now damaged, as increasing scrutiny and setbacks affect him on the world stage as well.
