Princess Beatrice's engagement ring compared to Eugenie, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton

Princess Beatrice and her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have announced their engagement after a short romance. The couple were congratulated by members of the Royal Family including Princess Eugenie, 29, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, both 59. Sharing pictures online, royal fans were given a glimpse of her beautiful diamond engagement ring. How does the ring compare to the engagement rings of Princess Eugenie, Kate Middleton, 37, and Meghan Markle, 38?

Princess Beatrice looked overjoyed as she showed off her new ring in pictures with Edoardo.

The stunning diamond ring was proudly displayed on her ring as she posed for pictures taken by Princess Eugenie.

Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77Diamonds.com, said: “Princess Beatrice’s ring is a beautiful 3.5 carat round diamond, of medium quality, set in an art deco design, with tapered baguettes on each side of the centre stone. I would value this ring at £60,000.”

So, how does the ring compare to other royals?

When Kate Middleton and Prince William got engaged, the Duchess was given the sapphire ring which once belonged to Princess Diana.

Princess Eugenie was given a unique ring which was made using a special form of sapphire circled by diamonds.

Tobias said: “Unlike Kate and Eugenie, who were given coloured gemstones, Edoardo has gone for a more modern engagement ring with a diamond, like Harry for Meghan.”

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got engaged, the Duchess of Sussex was given a custom designed ring which was made using jewels from Princess Diana’s collection.

Although Meghan and Beatrice both have modern rings, Beatrice’s jewel had a more modern design.

Tobias said: “While Meghan got a cushion cut diamond, an older but more trendy diamond shape, Beatrice has been given the most popular and brightest diamond, a round, accompanied by a pair of tapered baguettes, which creates a very art deco look.”

Posting on Instagram, Princess Eugenie congratulated her sister and gushed over the news.

She wrote: “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”

The Princess of York also included a quote from the happy couple who shared their excitement.

The post said: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
