Deepika Padukone 'shocked' by FALSE reports over THIS controversial film during xXx wait

The Bollywood superstar is always busy with films booked up in advance. She has just finished shooting the cricket drama ’83 in London with husband Ranveer Singh. Deepika also has the acid attack drama Chhapaak due out early next year, followed by the long-awaited crime queen biopic Sapna Didi. International fans, meanwhile, are waiting eagerly for any news about xXx 4 with Vin Diesel.

Deepika is apparently no longer attached to the Bollywood Seven Brides For Seven Brothers version, Satte pe Satta.

But it is another major project which continues to create headlines and generate controversy.

When the actress was originally announced to be in talks for the new Luv Ramjan movie, there was an immediate backlash.

The director had been accused of sexual harassment last year by an anonymous Bollywood actress.

Deepika apparently then distanced herself from the project and another actress Shraddha Kapoor was mentioned before she, too, dropped out.

However, Indian news reports now claim that this is not the case.

Filmfare says: “For the past few days there have been several reports of the superstar walking out of the film and another actress stepping into her shoes.

“But as per our sources, Deepika and the makers are shocked to read such reports as they are untrue. Because the actress and the director both know that they are doing the film together. In fact, they have had several meetings for the film to discuss the project in detail.”

The untitled project would reunite Deepika with long-term friend and co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

The pair starred together in 2015 smash hit Tamasha.

They have also walked the Mumbai catwalks together and recently filmed the latest in a series of television adverts for Asian Paints Royale Health Shield.

While some famous names have spoken publicly in support of Luv Ramjan, Deepika and her representatives have made no statement, as yet, on the subject of working with the director.

Meanwhile, the latest movie in the xXx franchise remains stuck in pre-production, with no sign yet of when it will start filming.
