Star Wars excitement is building. Triple Force Friday will live stream a preview to the world today before all the merchandise goes on sale on October 4. New leaks claim that last-minute reshoots are underway for Rise of Skywalker. They also reveal some horrifying deaths of major, much-loved characters – and one not-so-loved character. Obviously all such leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Even the Redditor who has just detailed major plot points for Episode 9 also reminds readers that reshoots and final editing can change or remove entire scenes.
However, the latest post is packed with a startling amount of detail.
The first death described is no real surprise, although the specific details on how it happens and how it affects a major scene is undeniably tantalising.

Everybody is expecting Leia to pass away dramatically, the unexpected death of Carrie Fisher made it inevitable.
The leak says: “Off in another part of the galaxy while Kylo and Rey clash sabers, a bright light in the universe begins to fade. Leia is dying. Before her death, we hear the voice of a familiar hero come to bid her farewell and pass on one last bit of knowledge.”
Everybody knows Rey and Kylo will fight, it’s even on the poster, but according to the leak Leia’s passing will distract Kylo and Rey will defeat him. As for the mysterious “voice” that must surely be Luke?
The second alleged death is C-3PO. The droid sacrifices himself by allowing his memory and personality to be wiped so the rebels can access and translate a vital Sith inscription. This could certainly explain the trailer scene showing him rebooting with menacing red eyes.
The actor Anthony Daniels himself promised C-3PO will have a “magnificent, scary scene.”
The third death has seemed inevitable from the start.
Hux is revealed as a mole who has been feeding the rebels information to undermine his nemesis, Kylo Ren. This rumour has also been circulating for many months.
The leak says Hux allows Rey and others to escape from capture and Kylo Ren kills him for “treason against the First Order.”
What is evident is that all good leaks may simply be logical extensions of facts already known or hinted at by posters, trailers and set photos. The truth will be revealed in December but it seems certain Episode 9 is gunning to be the most emotional and powerful film of the entire franchise.
Fans will hope that, at least, is true.
