Pokemon Sword and Shield FREE bonus revealed, but there's a catch

Pokemon Sword and Shield release date is fast approaching, and there’s a great free bonus on offer for some gamers.

The wait for Pokemon Sword and Shield is almost over, with the new entry in the beloved Nintendo series soon arriving on the Switch.

Pokemon Sword and Shield has a worldwide release date of November 15 on the Nintendo Switch.

It is the first mainline entry in the Pokemon series to ever get a release on home consoles, with these JRPGs previously only being for handhelds.

The power of the Nintendo Switch means the new Pokemon game boasts gorgeous looking HD anime-style visuals.

It will undoubtedly be the best looking game in the series, and when it launches will bring with it a tonne of new Pokemon for fans to catch.

Anticipation is undoubtedly high for the new Pokemon game, which could be a big driver for sales of the Switch and Switch Lite.

And those that end up pre-ordering Pokemon Sword and Shield could end up getting a great free bonus, depending on which region they’re in.

As revealed in a post by Go Nintendo, a new Pokemon pre-order bonus has been announced – but sadly it’s only for gamers in Japan.

The Pokemon Sword and Shield bonus offers a free Nendoroid to those that pre-order the Switch title at Pokemon Centres across Japan.

These Nendoroids are of the starter Pokemon for Sword and Shield – Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble.

Nendoroids are cute figurines made by the GoodSmile company which boast adorable chibi features.

A wide range of Nendoroids are available based on other popular games such as Metal Gear Solid, Persona 5 and Zelda Breath of the Wild.

It remains to be seen if the Pokemon Sword and Shield Nendoroids get released separately, which would mean fans in the UK could import them.

Or, alternatively, if they will be an exclusive reward with this pre-order promotion.

In other Pokemon news a major leak could have revealed details about the Pokedex for Sword and Shield.

The leak comes after a new official website for Pokemon Sword and Shield went live in Japan.

It adds randomly chosen giant Pokemon to any image that a user uploads.

However, besides the Pokemon that appear in the photos dataminers have discovered some previously unconfirmed Pocket Monsters for the Galar region.

As revealed by Twitter user abcboy101, the code for the website could reveal details about the evolutions appearing in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

The tweeter revealed that each Pokemon featured on the site has a codename which could indicate its evolutionary state.

So, starter Pokemon Sobble’s codename on the website is Chameleon1 – which could indicate its first evolution is chameleon-like.

While Corviknight’s codename is Gcommondori3, which could indicate its third stage is a flying-type Pokemon.
