Police raced to the scene and cordoned off the station, called München Hauptbahnhof in German, this afternoon after a man was said to have been spotted with a weapon. It remains unknown what the weapon was and weather any arrests have been made. Police are still dealing with the incident.
Police have since warned on Twitter they are still hunting for the armed man.
Platforms 14 and 15 have been shut off.
Officers said on Twitter: “There has been information that there is possible an armed person in a train at the central station in Munich on platform 14.
“This person is currently being looked for.
“The area around platform 14/15 remains closed.”
Munich central station serves around 400,000 people daily with trains operating throughout Germany.
