Zoe Ball reveals what she really thinks about son Woody Cook's stint on The Circle

Zoe Ball, 48, addressed her 18-year-old son Woody Cook’s appearance on The Circle as he made his debut on tonight’s launch show. Sharing a picture of Woody with her 338,000 Twitter followers, the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host said she was “proud” of him.“Good luck to my best boy on his adventure on @C4TheCircle,” she said. “Proud mamalady.”(sic) Zoe also shared her sweet message for her eldest with her 392,000 followers on Instagram.

The Circle host Emma Willis, 43, soon took to the comments section to share her support, saying: “He’s going to be fab.”

Zoe’s Strictly Come Dancing – It Takes Two co-star and pal Ian Waite, 48, also chipped in: “Wow I love this show! Can’t wait.”

With contestants on The Circle able to decide who they want to appear to be, from the gender to their age and looks, Woody had some big decisions to make when he first arrived in the apartments on tonight’s show.

He opted to play it straight as himself, creating his profile true to his real life identity.

In his bio, he chose to reveal his hometown as Brighton and told his fellow contestants he was a keen festival-goer.

Woody is one of two children Zoe has with DJ Fatboy Slim, 56.

The presenter is also mother to daughter Nelly, nine.

Zoe married Fatboy slim in 1999 but the pair confirmed their split in 2016.

Elsewhere, The Circle sees eight contestants living the same apartment building but never meeting face-to-face.

Instead, they communicate solely via a social media platform, allowing them to enact any character they choose.

Tonight’s launch had seven people enter the apartments and start getting to know each other.

However, the first major twist of the series is came later, with broadcaster Richard Madeley, 63, entering to shake things up as an entirely fictional character.

Viewers had the chance to vote for who he should be, a gorgeous and glamorous young woman called Judy or a ripped hunk named Richard.

In the first episode, the contestants had to rank each other based purely on their profiles without even having spoken to any of their competitors.

When the results came in, Woody didn’t appear to have made too good an impression, coming in joint fifth place out of seven, leaving him at risk of being blocked.

The Circle continues tomorrow at 10pm on Channel 4.
